Warm Weather Skin Care Is Important

There is no such thing as a “healthy glow” from the sun. A suntan is a sign of sun damage, not a sign of health or beauty.

UVA and UVB rays are both harmful to the skin. Sun exposure and/or use of a tanning bed leads to skin cancer, premature aging of the skin, brown spots and wrinkles.

To minimize your exposure to damaging rays, follows these recommendations all year long:

Avoid sun exposure between 10 AM and 2 PM

Cover exposed areas of body with a hat with a 4″ brim, lightweight long-sleeved shirt and pants.

Protect yourself from both UVA and UVB rays by using a broad-spectrum sunblock with SPF 30 or higher.

Make sure the sunscreen contains zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.

If you really want that “sun-kissed” look, customized airbrush tanning is a safe option.
