Certified Medical Assistant

DESCRIPTION

Position is Part-Time in a dynamic Cosmetic, Medical and Surgical Dermatology Practice.

Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Board Certified Dermatologist with patient care, including escorting patient to examination room, obtaining /updating and documenting complete medical history, medications, patient issues and concerns.

Medical Assistant sets up examination room according to scheduled procedure.

Medial Assistant assists the Dermatologist with medical, cosmetic and surgical examinations and treatments performed in the office as well as with patient’s post-treatment care.

Medical Assistant administers topical medications and injections, as ordered by the Dermatologist.

Practice is heavily patient-education oriented. Medical Assistant will assist in educating patients regarding the nature of their skin, hair and nail issues as well as a wide variety of treatment modalities, physician-strength products, outcomes and expectations.

Medical Assistant will communicate with patients, families and third-parties related to patient care. Communication may be with other medical practitioners, pharmacies, laboratories, insurance providers, etc

 

REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma Required. College Degree Preferred.

Certification as a Medical Assistant

Five years experience as a Medical Assistant in Medical Office. Experience should include tasks described in Description (above).

Experience in dermatology/skin care a plus, but not required.

Detail oriented and well organized.

High-Tech skills not required, but comfortable with the use of a computer, telephone, fax machine, digital camera and other office equipment.
